Chatham County Approves Mixed Beverages

On Tuesday's special election, Chatham County voters approved the sale of mixed alcoholic beverages to be sold in county restaurants and bars. Proponents hope that this new law will help the economic development of Chatham County by bringing in additional tax revenues, attracting new restaurants, bars and hotels to the area, and encouraging travel and tourism. It will also allow existing restaurants to better compete with those in near by "wet counties."
